about

Who Am I?

 Elizabeth Barth, MS, RD, LDN

Pregnancy and the events to follow are some of the most beautiful, biological phenomena. But that being said, how do you prepare for it? What are the right foods to eat? What is best prenatal vitamin to take? What can you eat during breastfeeding? What should my baby eat? Why is my child eating too little? Why are they eating too much? To answer this, I had to become an expert in my field. I first received my Bachelor of Science in nutrition and dietetics and quickly after completed my Master of Science in nutrition and health promotion at Simmons University in Boston, MA.

I then started my journey in prenatal and postpartum nutrition working at the Women, Infants, and Children program where I counseled hundreds of pregnant women and their children. I then went on to complete my dietetic internship and got my license as a Registered Dietitian. I delved into the hospital in-patient world but shortly into this job, I deeply missed helping and educating women and children about nutrition. I now currently work and lead in a preventive cardiology and metabolic clinic for children and research focused on parental health outcomes before and after pregnancy as well as for their babies at Massachusetts General Hospital in the Division of General Academic Pediatrics. I want to share what I have been counseling to all these women and their families. No one ever really teaches these things, so I am here to hold your hand through it all and guide you in making the correct choices based on my own work experience and real, scientific evidence.
